Yes, it is a requirment that you know how to ride a bike in order to take part in any self-guided or guided tour.

At this stage we do not hav the option to purchase camping equipment. This excludes our sleeping bags as they are only available for purchase.

The best island mountain bike trails on South Molle Island are Spion Kop & Mount Jeffreys. They offer breathtaking views of the surrounding islands and are the most rewarding bike trails on South Molle Island. 

There are 4 mountain biking trails available at South Molle Island. There are more trails available, although they are only walking trails and bikes are not permitted. The main biking trails include Spion Kop, Mount Jeffreys, Lamond Hill and Balancing Rock (combined mountain biking and walking trail).

It is possible to achieve at least 2 mountain bike trails in a day. We would recommend cycling up to the Spion Kop Lookout or Mountain Jeffreys Lookout in a day. If you would like to do more of the island trails it is achievable, but definitely an action packed day.

Yes, we recommend bringing along the following on your self-guided mountain bike tour: closed in shoes, sunglasses, sun protective clothing, hat, sunscreen, 1L of water and a camera.

No problem! You will be provided with a detailed map of the island trails so that you can explore the islands. You will also be provided with a timetable of your scheduled water taxi trips so you don’t miss your transfer.
